The Star Tribune announced their
2023 Top Workplaces award recipients, and we were fortunate enough to win the award! This is the first time we have been eligible for this award, as this is the year we have grown to exceed 50 employees. Being recognized with this honor is not something we take lightly.
The Star Tribune Top Workplaces award is arguably the most recognizable Best Place to Work award in the Twin Cities. You have probably seen its golden badge on the web properties of other local companies.
Companies are chosen using scores from an online and confidential employee survey. Some example survey statements, of which employees can rank on a scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree include:
- I am happy with my job.
- The goals are clear to everyone on my team.
- I believe this organization will be successful in the future.
- My manager cares about my development.
- The senior leaders of the organization demonstrate integrity.
What this means to us
Being nominated as a top workplace the first year that we have become eligible is one of the most meaningful awards we’ve ever won at SkyWater. With so many reputable recruiting firms in our region, today's top recruiters are choosing to work at SkyWater. We feel incredibly lucky to have such an engaged team and vibrant culture here.
"It truly is an honor to be named a Star Tribune Top Workplace in Minnesota in our first year of eligibility; we've always had a great deal of respect for the larger employers that continually make the list and the culture that they have cultivated. Being named a Top 10 Workplace in Minnesota means so much to our firm, especially in these times. At SkyWater, we recruit people for a living, and know how hard it is for companies to create a dynamic, flexible, and welcoming company culture with so many employees working remotely, or only in the office a couple of days a week. Given that, it's even more special to win this award in 2023. I know many business leaders say it, but our award-winning culture is truly an embodiment of the incredibly talented and high-integrity people that work at SkyWater."
-Adam Hoffarber, Managing Partner
While we believe that our reputation within the executive search space and award-winning culture allows us to attract and retain some of the top performers in the industry, we recognize that a great culture is a fragile thing that can change with one bad hire, one unethical business decision, etc. That fragility is something we’ve never underestimated, and it guides every single hiring decision, policy, and business strategy that we pursue.
