For many of us, the word “Thanksgiving” can conjure up some brief, highly idealized images in our heads. There is a glorious table, spread with perfectly prepared foods and staged with china and crystal so shiny that they reflect the equally perfect glow of perfectly placed candles.  

Of course, we imagine those things! How couldn’t we? They’re everywhere in the fantasy media images we’ve absorbed since childhood.  

But what we know is that the reality of Thanksgiving is unique to each of us, often varying from year to year, shaped by our own journey.

Across this complex tapestry of meaning, belief, and experience, there may be just one truth about this holiday that we all share: an ever-growing list of things for which we are thankful. This is a day for reflecting on that. For us at SkyWater Search Partners, that list is long.
